Cork clubs put some outstanding performances 2016 National Cup finals held last weekend in National Basketball Arena.

A thoroughly inspirational performance from Alex Macheta helped Brunell’s U18 team to claim Hula Hoops U18 Women’s National Cup title by defeating DCU Mercy 72-69 in overtime.
BFG Neptune team was crowned Hula Hoops U18 Men’s National Cup champions after a determined and tenacious win over Moycullen BC. Superb play from Sean Jenkins and Adam Drummond helped to secure 87-70 victory.
BFG Neptune completed a dream double with a victory in U20 Men’s National Cup final. They beat Dublin’s St. Vincent’s 88-82 in a thrilling decider. Four players went home with two medals around their neck. Liam Chandler, Adam Heaphy, and Adam Drummond were vital contributors and Sean Jenkins was the start.  Neptune’s Sean Jenkins was named MVP for both Men’s U18 and U20 National Cup Finals.
Team Montenotte Hotel claimed a record sixth Women’s National Cup win on in the National Basketball Arena. The Glanmire club completed a second three-in-a-row by beating Pyrobel Killester 96-64 in a one-sided affair.
C&S Blue Demons could not break the momentum in the fourth quarter of the Hula Hoops Presidents’ National Cup Final against Maree. Demons were leading for the first there quarters of the game but the fourth quarter was where Maree showed their true spirit. The Galway side scooped the title for the first time after 78-64 win.
