Ballincollig to play Blue Demons in U18 National Shield semi-final on 13-Mar-2016

Ballincollig and Blue Demons Boys U18 teams will play each other in the U18 National Shield semi-final on 13-Mar-2016 at 15:00 in Parochial Hall. Cork teams progressed defeated Kildare Gliders and Phoenix BC respectively in the previous round of the competition.
Blue Demons started with pace and intensity against Phoenix BC and lead 28-15 at the end of the 1st quarter with some great blocks from Robert Cahill. Demons’ scoring tempo slowed in the second quarter but Cork side still maintained a healthy lead at half time (44-30). Scoring continued to slow in the third quarter but Demons scored some great fast breaks with James Beckom and Dylan Brickley to the fore to increase the lead to 58-42. Conor Deasy and David Brickley’s troops kept the lead throughout the 4th quarter after some great hustle from Ethan Hurley, Jamie Thompson and Adam Lordan to run out winners on a scoreline of 74-65.
