6th of March

 

U12B Lee Valley 19 v Carrigaline 14

 

On the 6th of March Carrigaline’s U12B team travelled to Macroom to play Lee Valley. Carrigaline had the better start and with scores from Mollie Walsh, Jennifer Roche and Roisin Murry, they led by 2 points at half time. Sides were equally matched in the third quarter. In the final quarter Lee Valley found their form and with scores from Orla Hannon, Aine Barry and Saoirse Mc Carthy. Once Lee Valley took the lead they powered on to win by 5 points.

 

 

U10 Lee Valley 6 v Brunell 32

On the same day Brunell’s U10 team travelled to Macroom to play Lee Valley. The score line doesn’t reflect the great game played by both teams. Brunell were too strong for Lee Valley but that didn’t stop Lee Valley’s Aideen Buckley, Abby O Reilly and Caoimhe O Driscoll from putting in an outstanding performance. All players from Brunell contributed to their win. Sophie Charington, Laura Morrisey and Leah O Mahony deserve special mention for all their effort.

 

U18B Carrigaline 38 v Mallow 31

Also on the 6th in Crosshaven Mallow’s U18 team played Carrigaline. This was a very competitive game from two strong teams. Carrigaline got of to a great start holding Mallow to only a basket in the first quarter. It was the turn of Mallow’s Maeve Corcoran, Pauline Lucey and Jennifer Mc Carthy to shine in the second quarter. Mallow only trailed by two heading into the second half. Despite Mallow’s best efforts they could not stop Carrigaline’s Laura Webb, Kate Williams and Elaine Slyne. Carrigaline had to play hard for every score and eventually won by 7 points. 

 

U18A

On the same evening in Crosshaven Carrigaline’s U18 A team were too strong for Ballincollig. Carrigaline lead by 20 after the first half with scores from Aideen Mc Carthy, Amy Crean and Orla Calnan. Ballincollig put in a great final quarter performance winning the quarter by 5 points with scores from Meadbh Flynn, Emer Roche and Orlaith Jennings. But it was all a little to late to catch this strong Carrigaline team.

 

U16A Carrigaline 53 v Brunell 66

The U16A game on the 6th in Crosshaven of Carrigaline against Brunell was a very exciting game. Both sides gave a phenomenal display of basketball which led to a very high scoring game. It was a game of 4 different quarters with both teams winning two quarters each. It was Brunell’s Amy Waters, Aoife Dinnen and Megan O Leary who capitalised on their chances, winning quarters by 10 points as opposed to Carrigaline winning by 1 and 5 points. Despite great performances from Carrigaline’s Daire Rynne, Rachel Murray and Jenny O Callaghan, they were unable to catch this strong Brunell side.

 

11th of March

U16A Glanmire 50 v Brunell 51

 

The 11th of March saw another exciting U16 game in the parochial hall. Brunell started strongly with a 3 point scores from Megan O Leary. Brunell seemed to settle in to the game quickly, while scores from Glanmire’s Hannah Higgins helped settled their team. Amy Waters stretched the Glanmire defence and helped her team lead by 8 at the half. Glanmire steadied in the third quarter reducing the lead to 6 points. The final quarter was up and down. Glanmire got it back to a point with scores from Amy Winning and Louise O Callaghan. Then Brunell stretched the lead to 10 points again. With 28 seconds on the clock Glanmire called a timeout, they were down 3 points. 20 seconds Louise scores a layup, one point down. With 11 seconds on the clock Glanmire had an inbound ball, but great defence from Brunell lead to a steal and Brunell won by the slimmest of margins. This was the 7th match for Glanmire in which they lost by a point.

 

Div 1 Glanmire 49 v Kyer Kelts 20

 

Also on the 11th Glanmire played their second last league game against Kyer Kelts. Glanmire proved too strong for the Ballyphenane side. Solid defence and fast breaks gave Glanmire an early lead. With scores from Nic Crean, Rosanne O Callaghan and Sam Harbert, Glanmire lead by 10 after the first quarter. A great three from Kyer Kelts Eve Murphy kept her team in the game. Glanmire never let up and with great scores from Ilona Hartnett and great defence from Orla Murphy and Orla Lenard (who played her first game for Glanmire this session) they dominated the score board, winning by 29 points in the end. The score doesn’t reflect the effort and never say die attitude of the Kelts team. Lead by Sinead Collins and Irene Kavanagh Kelts gave a good performance.

 

10th November

 

U14B Kanturk 24 v Lee Valley 18

 

On the 10th of November Lee Valley travelled from Macroom to Kanturk to play their U14B team. Both teams put in a great performance, with Kanturk leading by 4 points heading into the second half. A strong third quarter from Kanturk’s Lisa Gillman, A Cullotty and A Guiney saw their lead widen. Despite the best efforts of Lee Valley’s Sarah Beth O Mullane, Julie O Sullivan and Sarah Corcoran they were unable to bridge the gap. Kanturk won in the end by 6 points.

 

On the same night Cobh’s U18 team also travelled to Kanturk. This was a very exciting match with great scores at each end. Sides were all level at half time. The lead changed many times in the second half with Cobh scoring the final basket to win by two points. Best for Kanturk was Clodagh Clernon, Maeve O Connor and Amy Edwards Murphy. While best for Cobh was Siona Hourihan, Rachel Coughlan and Freya Kearney.

 

12th of November

 

U14B Mallow 16 v Skibbereen 14

 

The U14B game on the 12th of November of home side Mallow versus Skibbereen was a great from the off, with both sides playing very tight defence. There were scores from Lauren Curtis, Maria Stanton and Megan O Connor. Sides were level with two minutes on the clock. Mallow put in a great final push to win by a single basket.

 

Premier Mallow 63 v Glenmary 44

 

On the same evening in Mallow Glenmary travelled to play Mallow’s Premier Ladies team. Mallow started well with great scores from Michelle Griffin. Glenmary only trailed by 7 points at half time, thanks mostly to Glenmary’s Maria White who was top scorer on the night with 24 points! In the second half Mallow continued on their scoring spree with baskets from Karen O Halloran and Natalie Landy. Glenmary never gave up with scores from Marian Clifford Cronin and Shiela Buckley but they were unable to stop Mallow powering on. Mallow won by 19 points when the final whistle blew

 

19th of November

 

U15 Brunell 43 v Glanmire 25

 

In the Parochial Hall on the 19th of November Brunell’s U15 team played Glanmire. Teams were evenly matched for the first half with Brunell leading by only 3 points. Both continued to play well until the final quarter. Brunell found another gear and took control of the game with outstanding performances from Amy Waters. Megan O Leary and Aoife Dineen, they went on to win by 18 points. Best for Glanmire was Anna Mc Carthy, Lesile Wilkinson and Lisa Mullins.

 

Div 1 Carrigaline 32 v Brunell 19

 

Also on the 19th in the Parochial Hall Carrigaline played Brunell’s Division 1 team. Both teams started well but as the game wore on Brunell were finding it harder to win baskets from the young Carrigaline side. Top scorers for Carrigaline were Vicky O Grady, Donna O Leary and Emily Murphy. Best for Brunell was Sandie Fitzgibbon. Carrigaline coming out on top by 13 points.

 

7th November

 

U16B Lee Valley 38 v Midleton 52

 

On the 7th of November Midleton travelled to Macroom to play Lee Valley. Midleton got off to a great start with scores from Aimee Phelan, Maria Garralda and Rayleigh Ahern and lead by twenty at half time. Lee Valley’s Yvonne Burgoyne, Jean O Sullivan and Michelle Mc Carthy put in a great third quarter and narrowed the gap but ran out of steam in the final quarter. Midleton won by 14 points.

 

U14B Lee Valley 3 v Midleton 51

 

On the same day, Midleton’s U14B team also travelled to Macroom. Midleton were too strong for the Lee Valley side. Best for Midleton was Jena Keating, Maria Garralda and Aimee Phelan. While the scores for Lee Valley were from Julie O Sullivan and Orla Hannon.

 

U12B Lee Valley 46 v Midleton 8

 

Midleton’s U12B team couldn’t keep up there sides winning ways on that Saturday. Lee Valley started well with scores from Orla Hannon, Aine Barry and Saoirse Mc Carthy. They maintained this high level of basketball throughout the match. Midleton never gave up but were unable to stop the strong Lee Valley side. Best for Midleton was Holy O Keeffe, Leah Maloney and Katie Griffin.

 

U10 Lee Valley 18 v Midleton 10

 

The final game in Macroom that Saturday was Lee Valley’s U10 against Midleton. Things were level after the first half with all players putting in a good strong performance. In the third quarter Lee Valley upped their game and with scores from Meabh Barry, Aideen Buckey and Katie Ronan they lead by 6 heading into the final quarter. Despite the best efforts of Midleton’s Claidia Kearney, Eniola Oshikaya and Katie Griffin they were unable to catch Lee Valley and lost by 8 points in the end.

 

U14A St Colms 28 v Glanmire 47

 

On the same evening in Limerick, St Colms U14A team played Glanmire. Glanmire started well and lead by 5 after the first quarter. The next quarter saw St Colms Becky Cleary and Chloe Dineen begin to shine and they narrowed the gap to 4 points. Glanmire’s Lesley Ann Wilkinson, Laura Whyte and Sarah Fahey found another gear in the third quarter  and began to score at ease. Glanmire continued to dominate despite the best efforts of St Colms Caoimhe Gleeson and Becky Gleeson. Glanmire came away with the win, with Lesley Ann finishing top scorer with 15 points

 

U16A St Colms 51 v Glanmire 30

The final game in Limerick was the U16A teams turn, with St Colms playing Glanmire. Sides were very close in the first half with both teams playing very well. Glanmire lead by a single point at half time with Amy Winning, Eimear o Mahony and Louise O Callaghan putting in a strong performance. However the second half was all St Colms with Orlaith Woods, Niamh Hannan and Aoife O Connell dominating at both ends. St Colms were convincing winners when the final whistle blew.

 

8th of November

 

U14A Carrigaline 33 v Brunell 65

 

On the 8th of November Brunell travelled to Crosshaven to play Carrigaline’s U14A team. Brunell started well in the first half but toward the end of the second quarter Carrigaline’s Sally Griffin, Sarah Motherway and Clara Fox began to match Brunells efforts. The half time whistle came too soon for Carrigaline and they lost their momentum. Brunell capitalised on this and put in an outstanding second half performance with great scores from Jessica Lane, Grace Kelleher and Edel Thorton, winning by 32 points.

 

U14C Carrigaline 18 v Brunell 16

On the same day Brunell’s U14C also travelled to Crosshaven to play Carrigaline. This was a very exciting game with both times evenly matched. Sides were all level at half time. A point separated the teams after the third quarter in favour of the home side. Brunell’s Kelly Murphy, Ciara O Shea and Sarah Morrisey put in a strong performance. However Carrigaline’s Sarah Mc Intyre, Shelly Collins and Emma Fitzgerald would not give up their lead and eventually won by 2 points. It was a very exciting finish with both sides playing outstanding basketball.

 

U18A Carrigaline 51 v Brunell 39

 

The final game in Crosshaven on the 8th was Carrigaline’s U18 team against Brunell. Brunell started well with scores from Alison Kearney, Caroline Mc Carthy and Nicola Browne and lead by 6 points after the first quarter. Carrigaline then put in an outstanding second quarter scoring twenty points with the help of Jenny O Callaghan, Daire Rynne and Aideen Mc Carthy. Brunell continued to fight to the bitter end but were unable to catch Carrigaline who won by 12 points in the end.

 

10th of November

 

Division 1 Crosshaven 38 v Glanmire 37

 

On the 10th of November Glanmire’s Division 1 team travelled to Crosshaven. Crosshaven took an early lead with Glanmire finding it hard to find a score. Glanmire’s Ilona Hartnett kept her team in the game with some lovely jump shots. Crosshaven’s Katie Bland was leading her team all the way. However in the second quarter Glanmire upped their defence with Nic Crean and Rosanne O Callaghan playing strong defence, while Aisling Hogan and Judy Hopkins started on scoring spree. Sides were level at half time and both sides exchanged scores throughout the second half. Katie continued to shine for Crosshaven. Laura Fitzpatrick levelled the game with a great three with ten seconds on the clock. It was looking like extra time when the referee’s whistle blew a foul that put Crosshaven’s Florence Zeniti on the line as Glanmire were on team fouls. She missed the first but scored the second, winning the game for Crosshaven by a single point.

 

 

3rd of October

U14B Carraig na bhFear Rebels v Crosshaven

 

On the 3rd of October in Carraig na bhFear Crosshaven travelled to play the Rebels U14B team. The Rebels surged into a 9 point lead in the first quarter through some great offensive play from Hayley Lenihan and with Aoife Heffernan playing some good defence. Crosshaven came out with all guns blazing in the second and third quarters using their huge height advantage to great effect and with great scores from Emily Burke, Anna Reardon and Rosie Clancy.  However what Rebels lacked in height they made up for with heart and with 58 seconds remaining, down by 3, Kellie Hackett made vital steels and also scored the basket to lead by 1 point with 35 seconds remaining. Rebels had time to add another score to win by 3 points with Rebels fans nearly lifting the roof of Whitechurch with cheers of delight. 

 

17th of October

 

U16A Carraig na bhFear Rebels v Glanmire

 

Glanmire’s U16A team travelled to Carriag na bhFear on the 17th of October. The 1st quarter was even enough Glanmire going in at the break with a 2pt lead with scores from Amy Winning, Eimear O Mahony and Louise O Callaghan. Glanmire with new coach Jodie Furlong are a more formidable outfit this season and will continue to improve over the course of the season. The second quarter proved to be the turning point where the Rebels scored 14 pts to Glanmires 8. The third qtr was very poor with both teams only scoring 4 pts. Leanne Kelly and Alanna Dunlea dominated the final quarter to secure the Rebels a 3pt win by 38 to 35pts.  

 

 

24th of October

 

U16B Carraig na bhFear 47 v Lee Valley 61

 

A minute’s silence was held before this game as a mark of respect for one of the Rebels team mates Sarah Buckley who was sadly laid to rest earlier this week. The Rebels began rather tamely and Lee Valley surged into a 14pt lead midway through the 2nd quarter. Yvonne Burgoyne was commanding the game and scoring almost at will for the girls from the west. The third & fourth quarters completely belonged to the rebels and it was as if Sarah was shining down upon them as their fighting spirit drew them level with Michelle McGinty scoring a free throw to draw level with seconds on the clock. The Rebels surged into a 6 pt lead with 3 mins gone in the 1st period of extra time and Whitechurch was rockin! but then the Lee Valley girls rallied once more to draw level with a basket from Siofra Burgoyne to force a second period of extra time.  Michelle McGinty was fouled out just at the end of the 1st period of extra time and the rebels were reduced to 4 players at the start of the 2nd period. Their luck ran out once more when Alison Mullins also committed her fifth and it was sadly game up for the Carraig na bhFear girls. Lee Valley went on to win by 61:47. It was a very emotional week for this Carraig na bhFear team who conducted themselves in a way that was a fitting tribute to their friend Sarah.

 

U16A Carraig na bhFear 43 v St Colms 41

On the same evening St Colm’s travelled from Limerick to play Carraig na bhFear’s U16A team. Carraig na bhFear began well in this game surging into a 7 point lead at the end of the first quarter. They maintained this lead right through to half time with an even spread of scores around the team. The third quarter belonged to St Colm’s with a 12 pt to 5 turn around, St Colm’s Orlaith Woods and Niamh Hannon using their height advantage to good effect. St Colms closed the 2 point difference midway through the final quarter and took the lead with 2 cool free throws from Orlaith Woods with 17 seconds left on the clock.  The Rebels were rattled and it looked  like they were about to end their winning streak, however up stepped Alanna Dunlea to get off a 3pt shot with 6 seconds on the clock to clinch victory from the jaws of defeat! Top Scorers fro Carraig na bhFear were Kate Howard, Alanna Dunlea, Niamh Mc Carthy and Kate Walsh. Top Scorers for St Colm’s were Orlaith Woods, Niamh Hannon and Sarah Woods.

 

 

27th of October

 

U16A Kanturk 23 v Glanmire 40

 

Glanmire travelled to Colaiste Treasa to play Kanturk’s U16A team Glanmire got off to a great start with scores from Amy Winning, Niamh Corcoran and Hannah Higgins. They lead by 11 points after the first half. Even though it was a sizable lead to try and bridge. Kanturk never gave up and with scores from Clodagh Clernon, Rachel O Sullivan and Lisa Gillman they can be proud of their effort against this very strong Glanmire side.

 

 

 

31st of October

 

U14A Carrigaline 24 v Wild Cats 49

 

On the 31st of October Wild Cats U14A team travelled to Crosshaven to face Carrigaline. Wild Cats got off to a great start, with scores from Dana Aspell, Chloe Morrissey and Kate O Toole, and lead by twenty points at half time. Carrigaline never gave up and fought back in the second half with scores from Clara Fox, Ellen Twomey and Kate O Toole. But Wild Cats were too strong for Carrigaline on the day, winning by 25 points.

 

U16A Carrigaline 64 v Wild Cats 49

 

On the same day Wild Cats U16A team travelled to Crosshaven. Things started off the same with Wild Cats putting in a strong first half performance with scores from Ruth Kelly, Emma Begadon and Lauren Lawlor. However it was all Carrigaline in the third quarter with great scores from Jenny O Callaghan, Rachel Murphy and Daire Rynne. Great defence from Carrigaline kept Wild Cats scoreless in this quarter. Carrigaline continued to dominate in the final quarter and came out convincing winners by 15 points.

 

U12B Lee Valley 18 v Mallow 30

 

On the Halloween in Macroom, Mallow’s U12B teams travelled to play Lee Valley. Sides were all level at half time. With Lee Valleys Orla Hannon, Saoirse Mc Carthy and Aine Barry putting in a strong second quarter performance. In the third quarter Mallow found their form and with scores from R O Riordan, M O Connor and S O Mahony, Mallow lead by 12 heading into the last quarter. Lee Valley matched Mallow score for score in this half but it was a little to late, Mallow held on to their lead of 12 points.

 

U14B Lee Valley 18 v Mallow 23

 

The U14B game on the 31st of Lee Valley and Mallow was a mixture of sorts. Lee Valley lead by a point after the first quarter with scores from Sarah Beth O Mullane and Siofra Burgoyne. The next quarter saw Mallow come out on top leading by 5 points heading into the second half.  Mallow’s Lauren Curtis, Ashling O Mahony and Shauna Griffin continued to dominate in the third quarter. Lee Valley never gave up and with scores from Julie O Sullivan they fought to the bitter end, loosing by only 5 points.

 

U16B Lee Valley 21 v St Anthony’s 51

St Anthony’s U16B were simply too strong for Lee Valley when they travelled to Macroom on Saturday, the 31st. Lee Valley started well with scores from Yvonne Burgoyne, Jean O Sullivan and Michelle Mc Carthy, they lead by a point after the first quarter. St Anthony’s then changed their game strategy and lead by 12 after the first half. With St Anthony’s Molly Murray, Kate Toscano and Ciara Murray going on a scoring spree, they won the game by 30 points.

 

 

U12C Glanmire 5 v Ballincollig 30

 

On the same date in the Parochial Hall Glanmire’s U12C team faced a very strong Ballincollig side. The only scores for Glanmire came from Joy Hurley and Chloe Barry. Ballincollig’s top scorers were Nicole Forde and Kerry O Leary. Ballincollig won the game comfortably. It was a very sporting game.  

 

U10 Glanmire 14 v Blue Demons 16

 

Glanmire and Blue Demon’s U10 teams had an early start, with a 9am game on Saturday the 31st of October. Glanmire got off to a great start with scores from Annaliese Murphy, Hannah Gillivan and Rebecca O Driscoll. In the next quarter it was Demon’s turn to dominate with scores from Orla Murphy and Sharon O Donovan. The second half was neck and neck all the way to the final whistle with Annaliese putting in an outstanding performance. Blue demons won the match by a single basket.

 

U12A Glanmire 14 v Fr Matthews 42

In the Parochial hall that Saturday Fr Matthew’s U12A had a convincing win over Glanmire. Best for Fr Matthews was D Murphy O Riordan and G O Mahony. Best for Glanmire was Kaitlyn Long and Louise Scannell.

 

U13 Glanmire 43 v Ballincollig 30

Ballincollig’s U13 team headed to the parochial hall to face Glanmire. This was a very exciting and high scoring game, with both teams putting in an outstanding performance. Ballincollig started well with scores from Emer O Reilly and Ann Buckley. But a strong performance from Glanmire’s Hollie Herlihy, Maeve O Riordan and Sarah Kenny saw the home side win by 13.

 

 

4th of November

 

Division 1 Glanmire 30 v Brunell 32

 

This was a very entertaining game with both sides putting a extremely strong defence scores were hard to come by. Glanmire lead for the first half with scores from Laura Fitzpatrick and Ilona Hartnett. However it was all Brunell in the third quarter with Sandie Fitz and Mary O Mahony stepping up their game. In the final quarter a three point shot from Nic Crean saw Glanmire take a one point lead. A smart steal from Sandie gave her a three point play and despite great defence and steals for Glanmire they couldn’t find that vital score. A very sporting encounter by both sides.

24th October

 

U12B Carrigaline 37 v St Anthonys 20

 

The first game in Crosshaven on the 24th of October was the U12B clash of Carrigline against St Anthony’s. Both teams started well with some splendid baskets and excellent defense. In the third quarter Carrigaline’s Roisin Murray, Marie Walsh and Aine Griffin scored some great basktets to give their side a 17 point lead heading into the final quarter. St Anthony’s never gave up and with scores from Tara Burke, Caoimhe Sheehan and Sorcha Howard they put in a great final quarter but could not bridge the gap.

 

U14C Carrigaline 34 v St Anthonys 27

 

In the next game down in Crosshaven.it was the turn of St Anthony’s U14C team to face Carrigaline. Carrigaline got of to a great start, with scores from Laura Richmond, Clionna Keating and Ellen Morrissey, they lead by 18 at half time. The seocnd half saw a great come back from St Anthony’s with Amy Cronin, Kate Murphy and Katy Roche stepping up to the challenge. St Anthony’s simply ran out of time, after dominating the second half they lost by 7. Gallant effort put in by both teams.

 

U16B Carrigaline 22 v St Anthonys 78

 

Revenge is sweet and St Anthonys weren’t going to come away from Crosshaven without a win and in the U16B game, they were simply to strong over the Carrigaline’s young team. Kelly Diggin, Kate Toscany and Molly Murphy were outstanding for St Anthony’s. Best for Carrigaline was Laura Richmond, Karen Lodge and Rebecca Pratt. St Anthony’s dominated from the start and game out easy winners by 56 points.

 

U14A Carrigaline 32 v Blue Demons 22

 

The final game on the 24th in Crosshaven saw Blue Demons U14A team travel to play Carrigaline. Blue Demons lead by 2 after the first quarter. Then Carrigaline’s Sally Griffin, Kate O Toole and Jasmine Forde had a great second quarter and pushed their team into the lead at half time. Blue Demon’s Olivia Dualy, Shannon O Leary and Dyon Manning put in a strong thrid quarter but couldn’t catch Carrigaline who went on to win by ten in the end.

 

Carriglines Division 1 teams has got off to a mixed start this seesion. Having beaten Blue Demons in the Parochial Hall on the 27th of October on a score line of 59 v 37. They lost to Donoughmore in the same venue on the 8th of October by twelve points. Final score Carrigaline 24 v Donoughmore 36. Carrigline’s Mary Burke has been having an outstanding session to date, with great three point shooting and strong ball carrying skills.

 

 

 

 

Division 1 Blue Demons 28 v Glanmire 37

 

Also on the 24th of October in the Parochial Hall Glanmire’s Division 1 team played Blue Demons. Glanmire got off to a great start with strong man to man defense and great face breaks from Audrey Scannel and Aisling Hogan. The second half saw Blue Demons come out fighting. Strong defence from Blue Demon’s Melissa O Callaghan, Elaine Struce and Danielle Geary lead to some great steals and they captitalised on these chances bringing the game back to two points. Experience saw Glanmire through. Coach Steven Brown called a time and aftet this Glanmire got their composure back and began to run their game of strong defense and running the ball on offence. Scores from Glanmire’s Laura Fitzpatrick, Ilona Hartnett and Rosanne O Callaghan saw them win by 9 points in the end.

U12B Kanturk 28 v Skibbereen 17

 

On the 13th of October Skibbereen travelled to Kanturk. In the first match, Skibbereen’s U12B team faced a strong Kanturk side. Sides were level after the first half. Skibbereen’s Laura O Donovan and Robyn Davis created fabulous scores. The third quarter saw Kanturk come into their own, with Caoimhe Moore and Emma O Connell leading their team to an eleven point win, with great scores and outstanding defence.

The second game on the 13th in Kanturk was also Skibbereen against Kanturk with it being the turn of the U14B teams. Sides were once more level at half time with Kanturk’s Eimear O Donoghue, Laura Gillman and Ciara Sullivan putting in a strong performance. Best for Skibbereen was A Hunt and E Mc Carthy. The second half was a different game with Kanturk dominating both ends. They took a 4 point lead heading into the final quarter and with great defence kept Skibbereen scoreless in the final quarter. Kanturk won by 12 points.  

 

15th of October

 

Division 1 Glanmire 48 v Crosshaven 40

 

This Division 1 game on the 15th of October in the parochial hall was a very fast and exciting game with both teams putting in a fine performance. Fast breaks were the name of the game and with Katie Bland powering down the court on one end for Crosshaven and Audrey Scannell and Aisling Hogan doing the same for Glanmire, it was end to end basketball from the off.

 

Outstanding defence from Nic Crean prevented Katie scoring her usually amount of three pointers but she still came out top scorer for her team Also strong for Crosshaven was Florence Zeniti and Laura O Connell. Glanmire put on a really strong team performance with all players getting on the score sheet. Glanmire lead from the start but were never able to rest on the laurels with Crosshaven always breathing down their necks. The final quarter saw Glanmire stretch their lead with strong defence from Sam Harbert and Nic Crean and great offence moves from Laura Fitzpatrick and Audrey Scannell they won the game by 8 points.

 

 

 

U15 Mallow 10 v Ballincollig 35

 

Ballincollig’s U15 side travelled to Mallow on the 15th of October to face Mallow. Ballincollig were too strong for the Mallow side. With great scores from Aobha Hickey, Leonie Hamel and Hazel Buckley, the visiting team took and early lead. Despite the best efforts of Mallows Pauline Lucey and Ciara Buckley they could not stop this strong Ballincollig side. Final score was Mallow 10: Ballincollig 35

U12C Donoughmore 34 v Mallow 07

On the 17th of October in Donoughmore, the home side continued their unbeaten start to the U12C grade with a comfortable win over Mallow. The home team got off to a great start with early scores from Amy Rose O'Rourke and Meagan Murphy giving the home team a18-03 lead at halftime. Despite the best efforts of Patricia Hayes and Michelle O'Brien, Mallow couldn’t find a way back into the game and Jenny Brew Dinan and Ciara Dilworth steered the home team to a 34-07 final score line.

 

U10 Donoughmore 06 v Blue Demons 33

 

On the same Saturday, Blue Demons U10 team travelled to Donoughmore. Blue Demons were far too strong for Donoughmore in this U10 clash. 20-02 ahead at halftime, the visitors continued to play strong in the 3rd quarter with scores aplenty from Melanie Thompson and Orla Murphy, while Sarah Healan played her heart out for the home team, final score 06-33

 

U16B Donoughmore 38 v Blue Demons 23

 

The third game in Donoughmore on the 17th of October saw Blue Demons U16B side travel up to play Donoughmore. This U16 game was over as a contest at halftime with the home side holding a 14 point lead, thanks mainly to great basketball from Aileen Buckley and Rebecca O'Callaghan. Lucy O'Callaghan was playing great defense for the home team while for Blue Demons Niamh Drummond and Danielle O Leary tried their best. Both teams cancelled each other out in the final 2 quarters, with Michelle Dilworth getting some lovely scores for the home team, as they won the game by 15 points.

 

U10 Lee Valley 14 v Ballincollig 10

 

In Macroom on the 17th of October, Ballincollig travelled down to face the U10 Lee Valley team. This was a very sporting game with both sides playing very good basketball. Sides were all level after the first quarter. Scores from the home sides Aideen Buckley and Aoife Foley saw Lee Valley go in a basket up at half time. Ballincollig’s Mary Murphy, Katlin Quinnl and Sarah Murphy put in a great third quarter. However it was great defence and scores from Meadbh Barry and Katie Ronan that saw Lee Valley victorious, winning by 4 points in the end.

 

U12B Lee Valley 9 v St Anthony’s 8

 

On the 17th, St Anthony’s U12 B team also travelled to Macroom to face Lee Valley. The visitors got off to a great start with scores from Eva Griffin, Zoe Hill and Aoife Murray, and lead by 3 heading to the second half. However, the home side settled down in the second half and with great defence and scores from Aine Barry, Saoirse Mc Carthy and Orla Hannon saw Lee Valley win by a point.

 

U14B Lee Valley 26 v Donoughmore 28

 

This U14B league match was a very exciting game with Donoughmore travelling to play Lee Valley. Teams exchanged score for score for the first half. With Lee Valley’s Sarah Beth O Mullane, Siofra Burgoyne, Shauna Corcoran and Noreen Barry putting in some outstanding performances. Sides were level at half time. Donoughmore won the next quarter by a basket with Donoughmore’s Sarah Lacey, Nora O Callaghan and Julie Dineen putting in a great performance for their team. Once again in the fourth quarter it was neck in neck, with Donoughmore winning the game by a two points.

 

U16B Lee Valley 38 v Glanmire 39 (after extra time)

 

The final game in Macroom on the 17th saw Glanmire’s U16B team play Lee Valley. This was the most exciting game of the day. With Glanmire taking an early lead with scores from Claire O Brien, Edel Manley and Sarah O Riordan. They lead by 6 heading into the second half. Lee Valley narrowed the gap to 3 heading into the final quarter. Yvonne Burgoyne, Jean O Sullivan and Michelle Mc Carthy played exceptionally for Lee Valley and managed to draw the game on the final whistle. Five minutes extra time followed and both sides played a tough and exciting game. It was a free throw from Glanmire that clinched the win.

U12C Mallow 17 v Carraig na bhFear 12

 

Carraig na bhFear travelled to Mallow to play this U12C league match. Carraig na bhFear got off to a great start, with scores from Aoife Keating, Elizabeth Murphy and Caitlin Healy. Mallow then turned things around in the final quarter. Mallow’s M O Brien, Lauren Nodwell and Patricia Hayes put in a strong last quarter to win the game by 5 points.

U10 Donoughmore 10 v Lee Valley 6

 

Defence was the name of the game when Lee Valley’s U10 team travelled to Donoughmore. Donoughmore made the stronger start with Sarah Healan playing well to give her team a 06-04 half time lead. Joanne Kelly, Katie Ronan and Maebh Barry tried hard for the visitors but Megan Murphy and Laura Kelleher ensured the home team victory with a strong final quarter.

 

U12A Donoughmore 13 v Brunell 19

 

This was an entertaining U12A game between home side Donoughmore and visitors Brunell. Brunell are one of the stronger teams in the league and showed this strength with a quick early burst of scores from Ciara Buckley and Sarah Morrissey giving them a 4 point lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Donoughmore made a strong comeback in the second quarter and only trailed by 2 points at half time. Ciara Morrissey and Michelle Buckley were now playing well for the home team and only trailed by 3 going into the final quarter. Brunell held on to win by 6, thanks mainly to a strong last quarter from Ciara O'Shea

 

U12C Donoughmore 45 v Brunell 3

 

The final game in Donoughmore that evening was Donoughmore against Brunell. This was a very one sided affair with the home team dominating for much of the match. Grainne Sexton gave Donoughmore the perfect start with 4 early points to help her team to a 5 point lead. Jenny Brew Dinan and Ciara Dilworth maintained the edge for the home team as they led 18-03 at halftime. Rachel O'Mahony and Nicole Calanan tried hard for Brunell but the onslaught continued into the second half, with Amy Rose O'Rourke and Megan Murphy scoring at will for the home team.

 

In Carrigaline on the same evening there were three games played

 

U12B Carrigaline 29 v Kanturk 36

 

Kanturk travelled to play Carrigaline’s U 12B team. The home side took an early lead with scores from Roisin Murray, Aoife Slyne and Jennifer Roche. By the end of the second quarter Kanturk were starting to find there form but still trailed by four heading into the second half. Kanturk’s L Moore, A Watson and L O’ Riordan put in an fabulous second half performance and went on to win by 7 points.

 

U14C Carrigaline 5 v Kanturk 75

 

Kanturk’s U14C team also travelled to play Carrigaline. This was a very one sided affair, with the visitors proving far to strong for the home side. Kanturk’s Ciara Mc Carthy, Caoimhe Moore and Louise Barry had outstanding game. Best for Carrigaline was Elana Mc Carthy and Sarah Mc Intyre

 

U16A Carrigaline 66 v Kanturk 20

 

Finally in Crosshaven, Kanturk’s U16A team played Carrigaline. Carrigaline’s Daire Rynne, Jenny O Callaghan and Jenny Dore got off to a dream start and lead after the first quarter 22: 5. Kanturk then rallied and Clodagh Clernan and Rachel O Connell did their best to bring their team back into the game. However Carrigaline were simply too strong, holding Kanturk scoreless in the last quarter. Carrigaline went on to win by 46 points.

 

On the same day in Mallow, Midleton travelled with their U12B and U 14B teams to face a strong Mallow side in their home court.

The score doesn’t reflect the gallant effort made by Midleton’s U12B team when they played Mallow last Saturday. Midleton’s Leah Mahony played very well. However Mallow was the superior team, all players put in an outstanding performance, with great scores from Sinead o Mahony, Triona Carroll, Aisling Finn and Megan O Connor.

This U14B game between Mallow and Midleton was a very exciting and sporting occasion. Mallow got off to a good start with scores from Lauren Curtis, Shania Griffin and Aisling O Mahony, the lead by 6 after the first half. It was then Midleton’s turn to shine and scores from Hannah O Keeffe, Maria Garrald and Jenna Keating saw them narrow the lead to one a basket heading into the final quarter. This was a very exciting quarter with both sides playing outstanding defence and matching each other score for score. However Lauren Curtis clinched the winning basket for Mallow, with her side winning by two points. Both sides should be commended for their outstanding performance.

On the 22nd of September in Kanturk, Mallow’s U12B team travelled for this local derby. Mallow got off to a good start and led by 4 after the first half with scores from T Carroll, M O Connor and S Egan. It was in the final quarter Kanturk’s defence held Mallow to only four points. Kanturk’s Clodagh Mc Crory, Caoimhe Moore and Emma O Connell went on a scoring spree and beat the visiting team by one point. Final score Kanturk 36: Mallow 35

This was a one sided affair with Mallow dominating from the start with great scores from Louise Curtis, Maeve Corcoran and Katie Buckley. U15 Donoughmore 31 v Ballincollig 48

 

The U15 game between Donoughmore and Ballincollig held in Donoughmore on the 23rd of September was a very entertaining game with free flowing basketball throughout.

Donoughmore are getting used to life in A grade basketball having played B grade for the past couple of years, while Ballincollig have been one of the best teams in this grade for many years.

The game started at a high pace with both teams trying to settle and the home team had an early lead, thanks to Aoife Crowley but the impressive Niamh McCarthy took control of the game late in the first quarter for Ballincollig and this continued into the second quarter as she scored 14 points in the 2nd quarter to give her team a major hold on the game as they led by 17 at half time.

Donoughmore put on a brave show in the second half but McCarthy, and Leonie Hamel continued their dominance while for the home team Sarah Lacey and Miriam Twomey tried hard. Aileen Buckley gave a brave performance in the last quarter but it was in vain as Ballincollig ran out winners. Final score Donoughmore 31: Ballincollig 48

 

Division 1 Donoughmore 41 v Blue Demons 37

 

One of the games of the season to date was witnessed in Donoughmore the same evening as Donoughmore Division 1 team took on Blue Demons.

The home team made it 2 wins in a row with a powerful final quarter against a Blue Demons team which had 4 former Donoughmore players in their ranks.

The game started slowly until Marie Claire Tips opened the score for the home team. Blue Demon’s  Melissa O'Callaghan and Orla Murphy gave the visitors an early lead. But then a huge three from Tracey Rodgers gave the home team a 2 point lead at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter turned into a shootout between Demons Caroline O'Leary and Donoughmore’s Melissa O'Callaghan as both players shot huge 3's for their respective sides. This continued into the 3rd quarter and the teams were tied at 31-31 going into the last quarter.

Donoughmore stepped up big time in the last quarter, through Marguerite Murphy and Ann O'Callaghan and a huge defensive display from Noelle McSweeney gave the home team a deserving win 41-37

Senior Ballincollig 52 v Skibbereen 79

 

On the 24th of September in the Parochial Hall the senior ladies from Ballincollig faced Skibbereen. This was a very high scoring game with both sides finding their form early in the first quarter. It was a highly entertaining start with great end to end basketball. Skibbereen led 20:17 after the first quarter with great scores from Rose and Mags Breen. Skibbereen upped the defence in the next two quarters while finding scores at the other end. Ballincollig’s Holly Coomey, Sam Coomey and Megan Cunningham Murphy got great scores for their sides in the last quarter but the damage was already done and they couldn’t bridge the gap. Final score Ballincollig 52: Skibbereen 79

On the same evening in Mallow Brunell’s U15 travelled to face Mallow. Brunell started well and played a fantastic game. Megan O Leary and Aoife Dineen made some love threes and over all the Brunell team were extremely fit and fast. Grace Kelleher also shone for Brunell. Mallow were simply out classed but that did not stop them fighting till the bitter end, with strong performances from Ciara Bunkley, Shania Griffin and Gemma Mc Namara. Final score Mallow 19: Brunell 63

On Thursday the 8th of September Carrigaline travelled to Mallow to face a very strong U12B side. Both sides started well with Carrigaline’s Roisin Murray, Molly Walsh and Amy O Sullivan putting in a great performance. The home side were simply too strong, with Shannon Egan, Ciara Carroll and Megan O Connor going on a scoring spree. Mallows Shannon Egan was top scoring 17 points for her side.

 

 

U18B Mallow 51: Carrigaline 26

On the same evening in Mallow Carrigaline’s U18 team played Mallow.It was all square after the first quarter with great end to end baskets. Mallow then upped their defence and with great baskets from Louise Curtis down base and from Maeve Corcoran and Katie Buckley. Mallow powered on to win by 25 points.

Skibbereen travelled to Midleton to play this U12B league game. Skibbereen prove far too strong for Midleton. D O Driscoll, H Davis and C Coombes scored thirty of Skibbereen’s points between them. Best for Midleton was Abbie Quirke and Tara Spriges.

 

U14B Midleton 35 v Skibbereen 24

The U14B game against Midleton and Skibbereen was a more sporting and competitive game. The home team took an early lead with baskets from Genna Keating. Amy Phelan also contributed to Midleton’s lead. Skibbereen found their form in the third quarter with K Mc Carthy, A Hunt and D Connolly producing scores for their team. Skibbereen matched Midleton in the second half, however the damaged had already been done and with Genna continuing here scoring spree. Midleton won on a score line of 35:24

U18B Donoughmore 30: Carraig na bhFear Rebels 34

On the 16th of September Carrig na bhFear travelled to Donoughmore to play an U18B match. It was all even after the first quarter, with scores from Donoughmore’s Ellen Daly and Aisling Dineen and Carrig na bhFear’s Kate Walsh. In the second quarter Carrig na bhFear started to pull away thanks to strong play from Kate Howard and Leanne Kelly. Donoughmore rallied at the start of the third quarter with the introduction of Michelle Dilworth but Carrig na bhFear held on to their lead winning in the end by 4 points. Final score Donoughmore 30: Carraig na bhFear Rebels 34

The defending division two league champions Carrig na bhFear got off to a strong start through Lisa Braham. Further scores from Ann O'Neill gave them a 4-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The home side made a storming start to the second quarter, led by Shirley Rodgers and Sorina Gabor they bounced back to lead at half time by 18-16. Once again, Carrig na bhFear regained the momentum at the start of the third quarter with Bernie O'Mahony having a strong quarter helping her team lead by 3 going into the last quarter. Try as they might, Donoughmore, with Susan O'Hanlon and Anne McSweeney having great games couldn't find the scores to clinch the game and Carrig held on to win by 5. It was a great game played in sporting spirit by two honest teams. Final score Donoughmore 30: Carraig na bhFear Rebels 35

Division 1 Glanmire v Carrigaline

On the 17th of September in the parochial hall, Glanmire’s Div 1 team started their session playing Carrigaline. The game began with teams exchanging score for score. Then great three point shooting from Carrigaline, especially A Donnelly, C O Donovan and great scores from K Sexton and E Murphy saw Carrigaline leading by 7 after the first half. Glanmire then started to bridge the gap with strong drives from Ilona Hartnet, Audrey Scanlon and Nic Crean, with inside moves from Beth Mc Carthy. However it was all little too and late and a final three from Carrigaline secured them an eleven point win. Final score Glanmire 40: Carrigaline 51

 

18th of September

U10 Donoughmore 15 v  Fr Matthews 20

The U10 match between Donoughmore and Fr Matthews in Donoughmore was very entertaining with both sides evenly matched. The home side dominated the first half with Megan Murphy having a big influence on the game. Also scores from Sarah Healan and Aoife Singleton saw Donoughmore leading by 4 after the first half. Fr Matthew’s Maeve Mc Carthy played an amazing third quarter and with the help of Abbey Barrett and Deirdre Lynch Fr Matthews’s had a five point lead heading into the last quarter. Amazing defense from both sides maintained the status quo and try as the might Donoughmore could not bridge the five point lead. Fr Matthew’s winning 20:15

 

U12A Donoughmore 12 v Fr Matthews 49

On the same evening in Donoughmore the U12A team played a strong Fr Matthews side. The visitors proved too strong for the Donoughmore side. Fr Matthews held most of the possession in the first half and with strong layups from A Gibbons and C O Mahony they finished the first half 30 points ahead. Donoughmore fought back in the second half with scores from Ciara Morrissey, Mary Barrett and Aisling O Shaughnessy. But the gap was far too large to bridge. The final score was Donoughmore 12 Fr Matthews 49.

 

U12C Donoughmore 22 v Fr Matthews 17

The U12C match of Donoughmore and Fr Matthews  was a very entertaining game with two evenly matched teams. Donoughmore got off to a very strong start with Grainne Sexton and Ciara Dilworth scoring at will for the home team. Fr. Matthews fought back and were level by the end of the third quarter, thanks mainly to C Hayes, M Mc Carthy and E O'Mahony. But Donoughmore, with Amy Rose O'Rourke in great form finished very strongly securing the win. The final score was Donoughmore 22, Fr Matthews 17.

U14 B Lee Valley 14 v  Fr Matthews 36

Fr Matthews got off to a great start in this U14B league match in Macroom on the 19th of September. With scores from Ciara Mc Carthy, Hannah Mc Carthy and Kelly Lynch they led by ten points at the end of the first half. Strong defense from Fr Matthews held Lee Valley scoreless in the third quarter. However in the last quarter Lee Valley found their form with fabulous scores from Niamh Dineen, Shauna Corcoran and Orla Hannon they won the fourth quarter but it was all a little too late to bridge the huge lead created by Matthews in the previous quarters. Fr Matthew’s winning by 22 in the end.

 

 

U16B Carraig na bhFear Rebels 29 v Glanmire 40

On the 19th of September Glanmire’s U16B team travelled to Carraig na bhFear. Carraig na bhFear Rebels got of to a great start with scores from Alison Mullins, Shaunagh Dunlea and Michelle Mc Ginty. Then Glanmire started to settle into the game and with scores from Fiona Kelly, Amy Collins and Zara Long they led by three at half time. Glanmire continued to power on and put in an impressive 4th quarter to win by 11 points. The final score was Rebels 29: Glanmire 40

 

U12A Carraig na bhFear Rebels 47 v Glanmire 15

On the same afternoon in Whitechurch, Glanmire’s U12A team played the Rebels. Carraig na bhFear Rebels got off to a fabulous start and led by 17 points at half time. Glanmire’s Andria Collins, Kaitlin Long and Louise Scannell played their best for Glanmire but Carraig na bhFear were simply too strong. Grainne Morgan and Amy Galvin were on form for the Rebels. Meabh Humphries of Carraig na bhFear was top scorer with 13 points. The end result was Carraig na bhFear Rebels 47: Glanmire 15

 

 U12C Carraig na bhFear 13 v Glanmire 26

Also in Whitechurch on the 19th Glanmire’s U12C team played the Rebels. Glanmire’s defense kept the Rebels scoreless in the first quarter and with scores from Erin Mc Carthy, Megan O Sullivan and Shauna Moloney Glanmire took an early lead. The second quarter was Carraig na bhFear’s with Aisling O Leary, Simone O Shea and Aoife Keating all finding the basket. They were only 6 points down at half time. Despite not giving up Carraig na bhFear couldn’t contain Glanmire who went on to win by 13. Final score Carraig na bhFear Rebels 13: Glanmire 26

 

U14A St Colms 36 v St Anthony’s 42

In Limerick on the 19th St Colms played visiting team St Anthony’s in the U14A league. St Colms took an early lead with scores from Ciara O Halloran and Becky Cleary. However St Anthony’s came back in the second quarter with Molly Murray and Ciara Murray finding their form. St Anthony’s powered on in the third quarter with Keely Diggins having a great game, she finished with 19 points. Chloe Dineen from St Colms never gave up but the gap was too great to bridge and St Anthony’s won by 6. Final score St Colms 36: St Anthony’s 42

 

Division 1 Kyer Kelts 38 v Crosshaven 46

On the same evening in Ballyphenane, Division 1 Kyer Kelts played Crosshaven. The first half was very exciting with both teams exchanging score for score and sides were level heading into the second half. Crosshaven took and early lead in the third quarter with fabulous three’s from Katie Bland. Kelts Mary Falvey, Eve Murphy and Liz O Neill were best for their team. However Katie was on form and with the help of her fellow Crosshaven team mates Laura O Connell and Flo Zanetti they won the game by 8 points. Final score Kyer Kelts 38: Crosshaven 46

 

U16B Carrigaline 29 v Ballincollig 30

Also on the 19th Ballincollig travelled to Crosshaven to face the U16B Carrigaline team. This was a highly competitive game with both sides playing great basketball. Carrigaline took an early lead with scores from Laura Richmond and Karen Lodge. However Ballincollig’s Emily O Brien and Pamela Kiely found some lovely scores in the second quarter to put their team ahead heading into the second half. Sides were level once more and it was a crucial score from Ballincollig that clinched the game in the final minutes. Both teams defense should be commended. Final score Carrigaline 29: Ballincollig 30

 

U12B Carrigaline 12 v Ballincollig 16

On the same afternoon in Crosshaven the U12B Ballincollig team played Carrigaline. This seemed like it was going to be a one sided affair with Carrigaline’s Amy O Sullivan and Rachel Lynch giving their team a 7 point lead after the first half. Great defense and scores from Ballincollig’s Rachel Moore and Brid Holland saw the visiting team dominate the third quarter and go on to  win by 4 points in the end. Final score Carrigaline 12: Ballincollig 16

 

 

 

On the 10th of September in the parochial hall Ballincollig senior ladies started their league campaign playing recently promoted East Cork Glenmary. Ballincollig started strongly with powerful performances from Holly Coomey, Jahna Hilliard and Samantha Coomey. However Glenmary found their form in the second quarter bridging a ten point lead to 3 points. Glenmary’s Maria White, Lynsdy Horgan and Linda Lynch were best for Glenmary. The second half was very exciting with both teams exchanging score for score until Ballincollig’s Holly Coomey went on a scoring spree helping her team win by 14 points. The final score was 58: 44.

 

Also in the parochial hall that evening at 18:30  Blue Demons U12A played Glanmire. This was a very one sided affair with Glanmire proving too strong for Demons. Outstanding performances from Glanmire’s Andrea Collins, Louise Scannell and Annlaoise Murphy saw Glanmire take an early lead. In the second half Blue Demons started to find their form with scores from Orla Casey, Andrea Moynihan and Lea Cambell. But they couldn’t catch Glanmire who won 28:7.

 

At 19:30 Blue Demons U18 B team started their league playing Carrig na bhFear. There was only a point in it after the first quarter. With Blue Demons Niamh Buckley, Danielle Geary, Lynn Mc Grath and Christina O Callaghan playing great offence for their side. However in the final quarter Carrig na bhFear’s Alana Dunlea, Niamh Mc Carthy and Leanne Kelly proved to strong for Demons winning by 17 points. Final score Carrig na bhFear 51 Blue Demons 34

 

Blue Demons Division 1 team were also playing that night. They faced Kyer Kelts. At half time a young Demons team trailed by 15 points. Kyer Kelts M Falvey, C Dineen and V Goggins played exceptionally. However in the third quarter Demon’s Orla Murphy, Val Keating and Christina O Callaghan held Kelts to 4 points, whilst scoring 8 themselves. But experience saw Kyer Kelts through to win on a score line of 39:22

 

 

 On the same evening in Mallow, the U12B league kicked off with Mallow taking on Lee Valley. Mallow had a great start; they dominated the game with great scores from Sinead O Mahony, Grace Flynn and Shannon Egan. In the third quarter Lee Valley fought back strongly with great performances from Aine Barry, Orla Hannon and Caitriona Granger. However they couldn’t catch Mallow who were too strong on the night. Final score 34: 15

 

Also in Mallow the U15 team played Donoughmore. This was a fantastic win for Donoughmore who played hard from the off. Donoughmore had some lovely scores from Sara Lacey, Amia Dilworth and Cliona Sexton. Mallow played a great 3rd quarter with Ciara Buckley scoring some great baskets. Ciara finished top scorer for the game with 20 points. Also contributing to the Mallow score line was Pauline Lucey and Maria Stanton. It was Donoughmore who were victorious, finishing with 61 points against Mallows 38
